Smashwords is a virtual playground for readers who love the written word. Readers can sample most works for free (and in many cases, read up to half of the book before they commit to a purchase decision); read in multiple DRM-free formats; create digital libraries of purchased and sampled works; publish reviews (including YouTube video book reviews); and “favorite” their favorite authors, publishers and works.

After reading The Missing Five, please leave a review and let me know your thoughts and feedback on my debut novel.

Thank you.

    Dear Gwen

I am delighted to let you know that your book THE MISSING FIVE has been nominated for the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi) Book of The Month Award. This new awards program is designed to recognise great books by indie authors and bring them to the wider attention of the reading public and publishing industry.

The award is adjudicated by an Alliance of Independent Authors team, headed up by Joni Rodgers of “I’ll Have What She’s Reading” and including Orna Ross, Director of ALLi, Amy Edelman of Indie Reader and Kathy Meis of Bublish and a panel of volunteer reader/reviewers.

    ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY
•The award is given to books of fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction by members of the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi).
•Books are nominated on ALLi’s Self Publishing Advice blog, here: http://selfpublishingadvice.org/blog/read-an-indie-author-alli-book-of-the-month-awards/
•Each nominee receives a badge (yours is attached).
•There is no charge to author, or nominator, for entry.
•From the nominated longlist, each month three books are shortlisted by the ALLi reading panel. To be considered for shortlisting, the author must be a member of ALLi and willing to participate in the programme and associated publicity.
•The three nominated books are displayed for a month on ALLi’s main website, as book bubbles (with book description, author insight and buy links), together with the previous month’s winner of Book of The Month.
•All the shortlisted books, and the Book of the Month winner, are given wide publicity, through press releases, social media networks and Goodreads, where ALLi’s extensive network of readers are invited to vote for the winning Book of the Month.
•There are also award badges and prizes for the winning authors — together with giveaways and prizes for the readers, kindly sponsored by Kobo.
•All Books of The Month are automatically entered into an overall Book of The Year Award.

As indicated by the eligibility criteria, nominated authors need to be a member of ALLi for their book to be considered for shortlisting and award.

As we have realised that you are not, we’d like to invite you to join using this link: http://allianceindependentauthors.org/

Congratulations once again on your nomination and do please let me know if you have any queries.

    Warm regards
