Yesterday @ShomariStone twittered one of my all-time favorite quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson: “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” Emerson was a brilliant 19th Century American essayist, lecturer, and poet.
On that note, I bring to you another of Emerson’s quotes that I believe should be at the top of your New Year’s list of resolutions, one which will definitely start my celebration at midnight.
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
I wish everyone nothing but happiness as you bring in the New Year.
